Juneau in Alaska, one of the USA’s leading cruise destinations, recently voted to limit the number of ships allowed each day to five.
Bar Harbor, a popular destination in Maine, has also voted to reduce the number of cruise ships allowed in the port.

Cruise tourists have been compared to a “plague of locusts” in Barcelona, where there were plans to raise taxes for passengers.
