The beautiful seaside town that Italians don’t want you to know about | Travel News | Travel

It has been said that one Italian seaside town is so beautiful that Italians do not want those outside the country to find out about it.

Bogliasco, located less than an hour away from Genoa, looks like a scene from a postcard with a rainbow of colourful houses lining its streets and its stunning clear blue sea.

The town is packed with historic sights from the Church of the Brethren of Santa Chiara, which was built in 1402, to the 12th century Church of Natività di Maria Santissima.

Those wishing to relax can visit the rocky Bagni La Caletta beach, which visitors say gives a great view into the sea and what is lurking below.

The town is packed with brilliant independent restaurants from Maa Ristorante, which specialises in seafood, to Il Vagabondo, which offers a variety of meals along with alcoholic drinks and coffees.

One Tripadvisor reviewer said the town was one of the most friendly they had visited adding that its location made it perfect for excursions elsewhere.

They said: “If you don’t know this part of Italy you’re missing out on a little bit of paradise.”

Bogliasco is located less than an hour away from Genoa for those looking to browse a big city, while it is also just over an hour away from the stunning port city of La Spezia.

Those wishing to visit Bogliasco for themselves can get a return flight to Genoa for about £200 with Ryanair in February from London Stansted.

To travel to the village visitors must then take the train from the airport, which costs the equivalent of just £2 each way.

Travellers can stay at Bogliasco’s Soffio Di Mare guesthouse for about £71 per night.
