As long as you do not exceed the luggage allowance, and are happy not to pay for seating, then it won’t cost you a penny more. The good thing about jet2 is that, compared with some other budget carriers, it has a fairly lenient hand luggage allowance so as long as you can pack a week’s worth of clothes into your bag, you don’t need to worry about paying for hold baggage.
Your hand luggage can measure up to 56cm x 45cm x 25cm and can weight up to 10kg. You can learn more about Jet2’s luggage policy here.
Santorini attracts visitors for many reasons, but its beautiful architecture and the photogenic town of Oia is certainly one. Tripadvisor describes the Greek island as “a stunning island tinted every shade of the artist’s palette at sunset.” And Oia is a hotspot for tourists to flock in time to see the sun slip below the horizon.
Tripadvisor added: “Beautiful Oia is world famous for its sunsets, which seem to dial through a kaleidoscope of colours before fading to starlight.”
The main town of Thira, is another hotspot for those hoping to catch spectacular views of sunset. Thira is also popular for its array of restaurants and lots of boutiques selling local crafts.
But, staying in these two areas can be pricey, so if you’d prefer to stick to a budget, we’d recommend heading to the souther-eastern tip of the island and staying at Kamari or Persia.
From here, you can enjoy lazy days spent on the beach or swimming in the sea, but easily head up to Thira and Oia via taxi or bus. The bus routes on Santorini are fairly easy to navigate, with most stopping in Thira where you can change to buses heading in different directions on the island. You can see all of the latest bus routes and schedules on the Santorini Bus website.
Alternatively, many tourists prefer to hire ATVs or mopeds for their stay.
