American visiting UK falls in love with ‘beautiful’ seaside town | UK | News

An American who has travelled to the UK for three years in a row loves a particular seaside town as he shared the four things of the country that stand out to him.

YouTube star JPS, who publishes under the name ItsJps on the video platform, spoke about his experiences in the UK over the past few years.

Reflecting on his trips to the UK, the YouTuber was first full of praise for the UK’s food scene especially Sunday roasts and ciders which he said were much better compared to similar cider scenes in the USA.

He then reserved massive praise for the seaside town of Scarborough on the UK’s north east coast describing how much he loved swimming in the sea and using the town’s beach.

The YouTuber said: “The seaside towns in Britain are just, there’s something really special about them. You can’t quite compare them to anything. Seaside towns in England, it’s special bro. I honestly thought the water was going to be so much colder than what it was, it was definitely swimmable.

“The beach was really nice in Scarborough I have to say. I had this really bad perception of British beaches, I thought they were all pebbly and rocky and it’s just not the case. Scarborough was beautiful sand and the water was as clear as it could be. I mean I really did not have too many complaints when it came to that visit.”

As well as thinking about the UK’s bevvy of seaside towns, the presenter was also full of praise for the country’s natural beauty with special time reserved for the Peak District and Scotland.

The presenter, who said he felt sorry for tourists who stuck to London said: I visited the Peak District for the first time this year and oh my I was blown away. The landscapes, the hills…they’re enormous and beautiful.

“The Peak District really blew me away and when you throw that on top of all the other amazing natural beauty that’s throughout England. Scotland you can go up there and literally think you’re in the Lord of the Rings movie, it’s that amazing.

“There is just so much natural beauty, there’s so much to explore and I really feel bad for people who visit England for example and they only stay in London.”

Music festivals also stood out to the YouTuber. He explained: “I actually went to two different music festivals. The festivals are great. I really enjoyed them they were good vibes, great weather for both of them.

“Wow, you guys have a lot of festivals, there are a lot of different options. I really wanted to go to the Isle of Wight festival.”

And finally, the presenter touched on the British sense of humour which he said was “necessary” because of how “cloudy” the UK tends to be. He reflected: “Man you guys have a wicked sense of humour and it’s necessary to be in such a cloudy and downcast environment for so much of the year and I’m not saying it’s cloudy every day.

“The humour is just so good and I thought that I was able to relate to everyone so well on this trip. When someone’s poking fun of you they like you, it’s really that simple.”
