For food lovers, Outdoor Toys suggested taking a trip to Newcastle, noting it has over 320 family friendly restaurants per 100,000 residents, more than any other city.

The company also stated that Newcastle offers plenty of tourist attractions for all the family, such as the Wetland Centre and Ouseburn Farm.

Value-seeking travellers can also take advantage of a number of free activities found across the city, including The Discovery Museum and natural areas such as Jesmond Dene.

Finally, the company advised a trip to Northampton, in particular for its healthy yet fun activities for all the family.

Outdoor Toys highlighted that the city has 10.88 parks and green spaces, 9.14 swimming pools and 3.48 play gyms per 100,000 people.

Additionally, families looking for unique attractions can also appreciate 78 Derngate, the award-winning house that was designed by architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1916, and the Northampton Museum & Art Gallery.
