A British couple recently visited a McDonald’s branch in America and were left astounded.
Nathan and Grace, known as @nathanandgrace on TikTok, shared their American adventure on the social media platform, with the fast food giant being a highlight of their trip.
They began their video by expressing their surprise at the size and cleanliness of the Florida branch. The cleanliness, in particular, was beyond their expectations.
Regarding the menu, they noted it was largely similar to the UK version, with a few exceptions. These included three half strips of bacon, an array of different sauces and a wider selection of fizzy drinks.
The couple opted for a Happy Meal, expecting to find a Crocs accessory inside. However, they were taken aback when they found a miniature McDonald’s Croc instead.
In the video, Grace expressed her disappointment with the frozen Fanta, stating: “And then it was time to try the frozen Fanta, and I did not like this. It literally just felt like all of the sugar in it was sticking to my teeth.
“It was not for me. I actually ended up going back to the till for a normal Fanta, so I had a drink that I liked. This was the smaller size, and it was literally bigger than my head.
“We both got chicken nugget meals, and they were good. The nuggets were crispy, but we still didn’t think it was better than the UK. Also, how cute are the fries that you get in happy meal? They are so tiny.”
Since its posting, the video has racked up thousands of views and sparked a flurry of comments. Many viewers seem to agree that UK branches come out on top.
One commenter shared: “Went last year and we didn’t like it. Preferred the UK one, but did like how small the fries are in the Happy Meal.”
Another wrote: “Hated the McDonald’s breakfast over there. The McGriddle was vile.”
However, some viewers shared more positive experiences, with one commenting: “I got spaghetti bolognese from McD’s when in America. It was amazing.”
Meanwhile, another shared: “Pizza in America McDonald’s is just mind-blowing, and the Crocs for Happy Meal is so awesome.”
