Much-loved pub chain continues to offer some cheap pints – if you know where to go.

Some drinkers can get a pint of Carling for under £2.30 but a cold one at pubs in central London cost more than £5.80.

Pouring over figures from Pantry and Larder, a pint of Carling at The High Main in Newcastle costs just £2.29. Customers can get a similar bevvy at The Wilfred Owen in Oswestry for just £2.34.

Other pubs where a pint costs less than £2.50 include The Regal Moon in Rochdale (£2.45), The Wallace Hartley in Colne (£2.49) and The Myrtle Grove in Bingley (£2.49).

The most expensive Spoons pub in the UK outside of the chain’s airport outlets is the Moon Under Water in London’s Leicester Square, which is naturally popular with theatregoers.

For those planning a marathon pub crawl, the northernmost Spoons pubs is The Muckle Cross in Elgin, where a pint costs £2.99, while the southernmost boozer is the Coinage Hall in Helston, where a lager costs for £3.54.

Holidaymakers heading abroad this half term who fancy a cheeky cold one on their way through departures should prepare to get their wallets out.

A Carling at the Spoons pubs at Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted airports all cost £6.30, while a pint at Birmingham Airport costs £5.99.

Previous figures from Finder that rated UK cities to find the cheapest pub prices overall found the lowest prices were available in Derby, Kingston Upon Hull, Perth, Peterborough and Gloucester.
