Octavia Foundation: Bargain hunter finds charity shop where rich donate | UK | Travel

A woman has found some hidden gems inside a charity shop set within one of the most expensive areas in the whole of the UK – and urges others to do the same.

Sharing her finds on TikTok, Danielle – who goes by the name Charity Shop Life online – decided to visit South Kensington in London as she searched for clothes in some of the local charity shops.

And with the average house price standing at £2,326,338, Danielle thought she might find some bargains. Starting off the video, she explains how “buying things that rich people give away” is her “favourite hobby”.

She visited the Octavia Foundation charity shop where she first found a Moncler children’s coat that retails for around £400.

She said: “Imagine being so wealthy that you buy your kid a £400 Moncler coat and then just give it to the charity shop when they’ve outgrown it.”

The coat was being sold on for £58 and seemed in pretty neat condition. She also found an Acne Studios ombre shirt that online retails for around £460.

The charity shop were selling it on for just £38. Meanwhile, there was a Zara limited edition blazer that is often resold online for a pretty hefty price tag.

But the Octavia Foundation was selling it for just £20. Danielle also came across a rainbow knit vest from Arket that can fetch up to £40 in store and online.

But this piece would cost someone just £18 from the charity shop. One of Danielle’s best finds was a pair of men’s Dolce & Gabbana jeans that normally retails for more than £300.

However, these were just £38. South Kensington has constantly been named as one of the richest areas in London, home to mega-mansions and celebrities.

Some of the most expensive streets fall in this area, with the Natural History Museum and Royal Albert Hall within walking distance.

For those looking to rent in the area, one bedroom properties can range from £450 to £1,000 per week.
