The ‘hidden coastal gem’ in England that looks so much like Bali | Travel News | Travel

Travel influencer Isaac shared on his Instagram channel @lsaacslifeandtravel a “hidden coastal gem” for travellers to explore this summer.

He said: “Is this the Bali of the UK?!” Pedn Vounder, located in Cornwall, the south of England, is “a hidden coastal gem that enchants visitors with its natural beauty and secluded charm”.

Issac continued: “Tucked away near the village of Treen, this picturesque beach boasts breathtaking views and a sense of tranquility that feels like a true escape from the bustling world.

“The beach is nestled in a secluded cove, accessible via a steep path that adds an element of adventure to your journey.”

Instagram users took to the comments section to share their thoughts with @kayec30 saying: “These would be some amazing pictures!”

Although most people agreed that Pedn Vounder beach is “stunning” and one of the best locations in Cornwall, others criticised the spot claiming there are “too many people” during the summer months.

Others warned Pedn Vounder is a “nudist beach,” which a lot of people are not aware of when they visit.

On social media, @sf882021 commented: “I live nearby. No lifeguards, no cafe, no toilets (people use the caves), nudist beach, difficult descent down the cliff, very busy in the summer so a lot like Bali I suppose…”

According to Cornwall Beaches, Pedn Vounder is “one of Cornwall’s loveliest beaches”, set among the stunning cliffs of Treryn Dinas “with crystal clear turquoise water and a beautiful white sand beach”.

Experts at travel blog Thecornishlife shared their top tips for visiting Pedn Vounder Beach. They said: “This year, attention seems to be focusing on the ‘hidden gem’ that is Pedn Vounder; a smaller, secluded cove about 400m East of Porthcurno.”

For parking, they recommended heading to one of the car parks in Porthcurno and after that, travellers will have a 15-minute walk along the coast path past Porthcurno before getting to Pedn Vounder Cove.

However, they warned that Porthcurno car parks get very full and “are quite expensive,” and added that the small beach may not be the best option for those without mobility problems.

They advised visitors to arrive there early in the morning and recommended wearing trainers as Pedn Vounder “is not easy to get to”.

They explained: “There is a pretty rugged cliff path to get near the beach, and then you literally have to climb down a cliff to get onto the sand.”
