The incredible £4,966-a-night lavish hotel built inside a Boeing 737 | Travel News | Travel

An old Boeing 737 destined to be scrapped has become one of Bali’s most exclusive hotels where guests can expect to pay up to £4,966 per night – and developers won’t be building another.

Entrepreneur Felix Demin, who owns three exclusive hotels in Bali, decided to rescue an old Mandala Airlines Boeing 737 that was bound for scrap in China and transformed it into Private Jet Villa in Uluwatu.

Demin dismantled the plane, transported it to the stunning cliff-edge location overlooking Nyang Nyang Beach in the Pecatu district of Uluwatu, and reassembled it, before converting it beyond recognition into a luxurious escape.

With space for just four guests at a time who can choose from two rooms, it is one of the most exclusive stays in Bali.

Those staying in The Jet Suite can unwind in a stone jacuzzi beneath the cockpit windows, while The First Class Suite has a luxurious bath with ocean views.

While the two rooms are opulent, the surroundings steal the show. The rugged plane contrasts a sleek infinity pool and jacuzzi which it sits behind, where four sunloungers face out to sea.

One of the wings of the plane has been converted into a terrace with sofas and glass railings where guests can enjoy a cocktail from the ‘inflight crew’. There’s also a chill-out area with sofas surrounding a fire pit, which is next to the helipad, of course.

Guests also can enjoy la carte dinners and personalised menus created by international chefs, private helicopter transfers, or even wedding celebrations.

Despite raking in nearly £5,000 per night, hotelier and property developer Felix Demin – who was just 30 when he attempted it – said he won’t be creating another one despite demand because “it was a nightmare” to build.

He also owns Bubble Hotel Bali where guests stay in a transparent bubble for a night, which Airbnb.com has dubbed one of the top ten world’s most unique hotels.
